Kanawinka Geopark

‘Booligal’ Country Retreat is situated within Australia’s first geopark, the Kanawinka Geopark. This geopark is located in both the South West of Victoria and the South East of South Australia. It is a geological area of great significance.

Why is it geologically significant?

This area of Australia has a spectacular history of relatively young volcanoes. With over 50 geosites and covering 26,910 square kilometres the Kanawinka Geopark has a range of amazing geological features to view, including extinct volcanoes, tumuli, crater lakes, sink holes and caves.
